Role Overview:
The IT Director will be responsible for formulating and executing the technology strategy, managing the IT infrastructure, overseeing applications, and establishing relevant technical policies for the organization. This position involves supervising daily departmental operations while providing leadership and mentorship to the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and engage in various project management offices (PMOs) focused on technology, data management, web development, and other departmental functions. Assess, document, and monitor requirements for IT projects.
  • Oversee and coordinate network infrastructure, security measures, and business continuity initiatives, collaborating with managed service providers (MSPs) to ensure optimal system performance and data backups.
  • Deliver user support, training, and resources for diverse software, hardware, and office technology.
  • Manage telecommunication systems, office equipment, and audiovisual setups for meeting spaces.
  • Administer multiple websites, including registration processes, performance monitoring, hosting, and programming, while supervising consultant developers.
  • Possess familiarity with various database systems and client interaction technologies, including AMS, accounting software, learning management systems, advocacy platforms, PAC management frameworks, digital publication tools, marketing email systems, and community engagement platforms.
  • Establish and uphold policies and documentation related to network, application, business, and cybersecurity aspects.
  • Oversee inventory management, tracking, and setup of equipment for both office and off-site events.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and budgetary requirements concerning technology and information systems, serving as a liaison for the industry’s Information Security Work Group and other engagement groups.
  • Manage the technology budget, including invoices and contracts.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to engagement groups and online communities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree is highly preferred, ideally in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Relevant technical certifications are advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT support within organizations; experience in the non-profit sector is a plus.
  • Proven experience managing MSP engagements and outsourced vendors, along with providing hybrid end-user support.
  • A combination of education, certification, and experience may be considered.

  • Knowledgeable about office equipment, including networked printers and multifunction devices.
  • Familiar with SQL database systems, AMS products with eCommerce capabilities, and financial software.
  • Skilled in website hosting applications such as IIS, WordPress, MSSQL, MySQL, and ColdFusion.
  • Proficient in web development languages including PHP, .NET, ColdFusion, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledgeable in DNS, DHCP, IP address management, Wireless Access Points, SSL Certificates, and other server services.
