Job Summary

The F&B Captain is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of dining outlets, including hiring and training staff, scheduling, counseling, payroll control, training, and ensuring exceptional guest service. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and direct a team of 30-40 employees in the Food and Beverage Division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct hourly staff in the Food and Beverage Division
  • Interview, hire, and train employees in accordance with resort standards
  • Ensure all employees are trained in accordance with Pinehurst standards
  • Manage reservations, room assignments, and service stations for meal periods
  • Participate in performance reviews and disciplinary counseling for employees
  • Assign side work and supervise cleaning and stocking assignments
  • Ensure proper supplies are on hand to effectively service guests
  • Allocate service stations for meal periods
  • Participate in meetings as required, including Food and Beverage, Manager Meetings, and Pre-Convention
  • Handle guest concerns and resolve issues in dining outlets
  • Manage payroll and expense control for dining outlets
  • Develop staff in dining outlets, including busser to server training
  • Ensure all reports are completed in a timely manner, including menu scores, special events summaries, and maintenance walk-throughs
  • Assume total accountability for all dining outlet activities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required and a minimum of two years related experience
  • Valid driver's license and successful completion of a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and annual MVRs
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds or more

Work Environment

The work environment is moderate, with occasional exposure to noise and physical demands. Pinehurst, LLC reserves the right to transfer any employee from their current job assignment or location to another job assignment or location as needed.
