About the Role

Pinehurst is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef-Deuce to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for assisting the PCC Executive Chef and Chef De Cuisine in managing the day-to-day activities of the kitchen department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Quality and Safety: Ensure the highest levels of food quality, safety, and sanitation are maintained at all times.
  • Inventory Management: Responsible for daily inventory and ordering of all products to maintain the current menu.
  • Expedition and Coordination: Expedite the line during peak periods, coordinating cooks and servers to ensure seamless service.
  • Menu Development: Play an active role in food specials of the day and seasonal menu changes.
  • Food Presentation: Ensure all food is presented to the highest standards, with proper set-up and presentation of all food and buffets throughout the shift.
  • Employee Management: Responsible for the annual performance review of respective department's employees, as well as daily kitchen huddles and communication with the front of the house captains and/or managers.
  • Incident Reporting: Responsible for filling out and following through with any necessary incident reports during respective shifts.
  • Leadership: Assume responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the PCC Executive Chef and Chef De Cuisine, making sound judgment calls and decisions based on the principles of Pinehurst.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma, Culinary School Degree, and a minimum of five years' experience, with a minimum of three years' supervisory experience.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell.
  • Work Environment: Moderate noise level, varying environmental temperatures, including extreme cold and hot temperatures, both inside and outside.
