Job Summary

As a Surgical Technologist at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in the operating room team, assisting in the care of patients of all ages before, during, and after surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing for surgical procedures, assisting the surgical team, and maintaining aseptic techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares for surgical procedures by collecting necessary supplies and instruments according to Surgeon Preference Card.
  • Assists the surgical team during the operative procedure, maintaining correct count of instruments, needles, and sponges.
  • Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and terminally cleans at the end of the day.
  • Maintains aseptic techniques and actively monitors situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologist training in the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • No previous experience required.
  • CST - Surgical Technologist Certification with NBSTSA or NCCT certification accepted if ST was employed as a ST in S.C. prior to January 1, 2008, or completed a ST military training program.
