Job Title: Marine Liaison Manager

SubCom is seeking a highly skilled Marine Liaison Manager to join our team. As a Marine Liaison Manager, you will be responsible for all marine and fishing liaison activities for cable installation supply contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide risk assessments and fault risk analyses for new systems
  • Support cable planning, installation, and operation phases
  • Maintain SubCom Cable Fault Database and update records from available sources
  • Conduct or contract fisheries desktop study and identify fishing hazards before survey
  • Lead the contracting of guard vessels to support surveys and installations
  • Develop cable awareness programs for system owners
  • Negotiate fishing agreements and develop procedures for Vessel Snag Hotline operations
  • Manage staff to conduct AIS monitoring programs in support of maintenance contracts
Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree in Marine Related or Engineering field
  • Ability to lead, coordinate, and motivate direct reports
  • Ability to present to small and large audiences
  • Knowledge of global fishing and seabed uses
  • Knowledge of cable engineering and installation
  • Ability to research and report concisely on current maritime activities
  • Experience in direct liaison with commercial fishermen
  • Skills with diverse software including MS Office and ArcGIS
