Job Description

LGC Biosearch Technologies is a leading provider of genomics components, and we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Analyst I to join our team. As a Quality Control Analyst I, you will be responsible for performing analytical and functional testing activities within our QC chemistry lab.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analytical Quality Control activities for chemical products in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure products tested adhere to established specifications and customer requirements for product release.
  • Recommend product disposition and update records associated with chemical products and incoming goods for review by QC management and Quality Assurance.
  • Operate and maintain standard equipment within the QC Chemistry Laboratory, including DNA synthesizers, HPLCs, Spectrophotometers, IR, pH Meters, Karl Fisher apparatus, and Mass Spectrometers.
  • Perform general laboratory maintenance and upkeep activities, including loading buffers onto instruments and cleaning the laboratory.
  • Label products and incoming goods with an appropriate status label after product disposition.
  • Interact directly with the Manager of QC Chemistry to understand testing prioritization and obtain daily assignments.
  • Perform standard laboratory operations, including dispensing chemicals, performing volumetric and gravimetric measurements, performing dilutions, and preparing solutions for use in the QC Chemistry Lab.
  • Assist in verifying and documenting Quality Control activities and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate with Quality Control leadership regarding required deadlines of product requests for customers or internal orders.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal suppliers, team members, and QC leadership to assure the most efficient use of time and resources.
  • Recommend product disposition and update records associated with chemical products and incoming goods for review by QC management and Quality Assurance.
  • Ensure appropriate work instructions are in place, as well as write and review QC procedures and documents with the objective of improving efficiency, complying with applicable quality and safety standards, and to ensure the continuous improvement of processes.
  • Proactively interface with production groups and internal customers to identify and implement areas of continuous improvement.
  • Execute on objectives and goals to support a positive, efficient, and motivated team.
  • Make recommendations to management as necessary regarding resources required to meet QC objectives, including equipment, employees, and space allocation.
  • Provide status reports and updates in short communications to QC Leadership as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean lab space.
  • Perform routine maintenance on process equipment and workspace.
  • Follow all guidelines/policies for safety, including wearing PPE.
  • Have consistent and proper documentation practices in accordance with QA standards.
  • Be self-sufficient and have strong time management skills, taking initiative.
  • Take out solvent and aqueous waste, as well as lab debris, as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or other directly related field.
  • Hands-on chemistry laboratory setting is required.
  • 1 year of hands-on industry experience with HPLC is preferred.
  • 1 year of hands-on QC experience is preferred.
  • 1 year of highly accurate and successful GDPs in a regulated environment is preferred.

Salary Range:

Minimum: $23.787/Hourly

Maximum: $39.645/Hourly

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for the California-based position. The actual base salary will depend on several factors, such as experience, skills, and location.
