Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer Trainee to join our team in the Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement's Pipeline Safety Division. As a Civil Engineer Trainee, you will perform a variety of pipeline safety engineering work assignments, including Operational Compliance Inspections, Reportable Incident Investigations, and Emergency Action Implementation Reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pipeline safety engineering work assignments, including inspections, investigations, and reviews.
  • Enforce Public Utility Commission Laws and pipeline safety rules and regulations.
  • Work as a team member under the direction of senior engineering staff and supervisors.
  • Draft inspection reports with findings and recommend further action steps.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure compliance with regulations.
Requirements
  • Four years of civil engineering experience, or a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Residency in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Green, Washington, or Westmoreland Counties.
  • Experience with pipeline safety engineering.
