Substation Engineering Manager

We're seeking a highly skilled Substation Engineering Manager to join our North Carolina Power Delivery team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for executing and managing all aspects of substation physical design projects.
Your primary focus will be on project team development and assignments, technical project leadership, quality control, commercial project management, and management of client relationships. You'll need to establish strong client relationships in the region and have an in-depth understanding of the clients' business objectives to determine the most effective execution strategies.
On a day-to-day basis, you'll lead the technical development of designs by working with the project team Engineers, EIT's, and CADD/Designers. You'll assign project tasks and provide technical guidance to project team members, coordinate and/or perform quality checks and reviews for all project deliverables, and lead multiple projects concurrently.
You'll also work closely with other departments such as Civil, Protection & Control, Transmission Line, etc. to coordinate design activities. Additionally, you'll be responsible for monitoring, growing, and participating in the execution of HDR's portfolio of Power Delivery services throughout the North Carolina area.
We're looking for a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, who has extensive experience in project execution within the Power industry, and previous staff supervision experience. A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Professional Engineer (PE) license are also required.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 7 years related experience.
- A minimum 2 years project management experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- MS Office and MS Project experience is required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years of Substation design experience.
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power industry.
- Previous staff supervision experience.
- Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills.
