The Energy and Resource Management Coordinator will play a vital role in enhancing the company's energy compliance, overseeing the utilities recovery process for residents, and managing associated expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Disseminate energy and water-related policies, including sustainability initiatives, to management and onsite teams.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual residential energy benchmarking reports.
  • Facilitate applications for Energy Efficiency Certifications as required.
  • Coordinate utility recovery strategies with building managers, supporting them in existing water and electric recovery processes through online management systems, interpreting building plans, and collaborating with onsite personnel.
  • Manage the company's gas, water, and electric accounts on utility distribution platforms, in conjunction with our billing partners.
  • Examine gas, water, electric, and waste management bills for accuracy prior to payment authorization, documenting any disputes and liaising with vendors.
  • Oversee the residential portfolio within the Energy Star Portfolio Manager, including ongoing benchmarking tasks and assisting with energy compliance initiatives.
  • Facilitate the transfer of utility accounts either directly or through designated third parties.
  • Address inquiries from vendors and governmental bodies regarding building energy performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in property management or the utility sector.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, urgency, and time management abilities.
  • Capability to interpret and apply governmental regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to prioritize, multitask, and adapt in a collaborative team environment.
  • Responsiveness and adherence to deadlines are essential.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Yardi property management software.
  • Familiarity with Energy Star Portfolio Manager.
