Job Description

Primary Objective:

The Sourcing Intern will work closely with experienced staff to gain a comprehensive understanding of our sourcing processes, negotiation strategies, and agreements. This role will involve building relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, placing orders for assigned items, negotiating materials and services, and supporting departmental initiatives or operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies to meet operational and support needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Place orders for assigned items using current price or current purchase agreements.
  • Negotiate materials and services with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing and quality.
  • Support departmental initiatives or operations by providing sourcing expertise and guidance.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing industrial standards through vendor relations, industrial publications, and site visits.
  • Conduct research on supply chain dynamics, develop RFI sessions, and evaluate proposals.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software and basic finance or information systems skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Work Environment:

The Sourcing Intern will work in a hybrid environment, with a mix of remote and in-office work. The duration of the internship is 12 weeks, with occasional travel required (0-2 days per month).
