Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Professional to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our pediatric care team, you will provide comprehensive and individualized care to pediatric patients and their families in the ambulatory setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage comprehensive and individualized care for pediatric patients and their families immediately post-discharge and in the ambulatory setting.
  • Complete routine visits, wellness, urgent visits, consults, and/or pre-procedure/evaluations.
  • Complete integrated assessments and order additional tests or consults as deemed appropriate.
  • Perform and communicate results of diagnostic tests following established clinical guidelines and scope of practice.
  • Consult and communicate with clinic and hospital staff regarding abnormal findings in patient evaluations.
  • Perform succinct comprehensive clinical evaluations and document findings in medical records.
  • Facilitate patient discharge by coordinating appropriate services and tests prior to discharge necessary for outpatient follow-up appointments in the clinic.
  • Develop a comprehensive individualized plan of care for general pediatric patients, including teaching, developmental reviews, wellness promotion, and follow-up planning and necessary referral to other members of the healthcare team as necessary.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a CCNE-accredited nursing program with a Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
  • BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PNP or FNP certification.
  • General pediatric experience preferred.
