Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Professional- GI Specialist will provide comprehensive patient care in the digestive disease/hepatology department. This role requires strong clinical skills, medical knowledge, and expertise in caring for patients with digestive diseases and hepatology conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient health evaluations, including biological, social, and psychological assessments.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to develop and review patient care plans.
  • Assess and coordinate patient educational and psychosocial needs.
  • Participate in directing patient care and coordinating discharge planning and follow-up.
  • Provide education to residents, medical students, and nursing students.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • National Certification by a recognized APRN Certification Center.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
  • BLS Certification with additional Advanced Life Support training as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's level degree as Physician Assistant.
  • Experience in liver disease, acute care, internal medicine, or digestive disease.
