Job Summary

The Senior Vendor Account Manager supports the evolution and growth of hoopla Digital's content catalog and is point person for managing key digital publishing partnerships.

This position is responsible for initiating, negotiating and managing ongoing positive relationships with digital vendors and ongoing internal digital vendor communications across the enterprise.

This includes new digital account set up, contract negotiation and renewals, general questions and maintenance as well as ongoing new content acquisitions.

Success in this position will include advocating for hoopla's strategic content objectives as well as understanding vendor needs to create win-win scenarios for long lasting and mutually beneficial vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day management and developing and presenting business insights for key account relationships with the goals to increase sales, margin and catalog size
  • Work effectively with publishing and/or entertainment professionals in various settings including remote and in-person conferences and meetings including leading business reviews and strategic meetings
  • Responsible for identifying new content opportunities, including new content categories
  • Collaborate on new contracts as well as critical strategic thinking around potential contract renewals
  • Take leadership role while collaborating with all internal teams to facilitate vendor onboarding, newly contracted relationships, as well as support ongoing relationships
  • Responsible for seeking out new vendors to fulfill strategic content gaps in hoopla catalog
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date details in the systems and tools designed to manage the business
  • Work collaboratively with Analytics and measure and increase vendor value based on strategic KPI's
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create and execute strategies designed to drive sales and increase hoopla value to vendors, libraries and hoopla
  • Support the formulation and communication of strategies to external content partners and internal stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot as necessary to resolve vendor issues
  • Cross train and collaborate with Vendor Mangers and DA Coordinator on vendor account management
  • Support the Digital Acquisitions team in commitment to improve processes, workflows, and best practices for the business
  • Actively look for ways to add value to vendor relationships while advocating hoopla's objectives
  • Represent Midwest Tape/hoopla in a professional manner at all times

Requirements

  • Curiosity and passion around media, publishing, and consumer/library patron engagement and general entertainment industry trends
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills - in person and virtual
  • Ability to think quickly and present hoopla in a highly professional manner
  • Strong analytical/decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and relationship management acumen
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint. Salesforce and Tableau experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work with many different types of people and teams pleasantly and professionally
  • Must be detail and goal-oriented, thoughtful and have excellent organization and follow-up skills
  • Must be able to work independently while being an active member of various teams
  • Basic understanding of contract language
  • Ability to learn and understand business financial models
  • Knowledge of the entertainment and publishing industries, including books, movies, and pop culture
  • Excellent follow-up, attention to detail, and follow-through skills
  • Can-do positive attitude

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's in business, related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in publishing or digital media
