Job Title: Medical Assistant or LPN

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant or LPN to support our clinical team at Think Whole Person Healthcare.

Job Summary

The Clinical Staff position is responsible for coordinating and implementing care plans for patients under the direct supervision of a healthcare provider.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate patient care services, including preparation of patients for examination or treatment, gathering of information, and performing vital signs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation is maintained, relay instructions to patients, schedule follow-up appointments, and help ensure timely patient flow.
  • Collect and/or assist providers in collection of specimens, as required, using appropriate protocols.
  • Adhere to infection control standards, including hand hygiene, use of PPE, isolation of patients with known infectious diseases, and equipment disinfection/sterilization.
  • Assist with special procedures and examinations following appropriate protocols.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of examination rooms, stock assigned rooms/cupboards, and ensure par levels of supplies are maintained.
  • Complete and monitor required logs for equipment and medication, such as glucometer QC, refrigerator logs, and controlled substance tracking.
  • Coordinate patient needs by communicating with various service providers throughout the clinic.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient messages within set guidelines and timeframes.
  • Complete medication refills in accordance with clinic protocol.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required. Ability to achieve certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, etc.) or maintain active LPN license.
  • An active medication aid and American Heart Associate BLS/CPR certification required.
  • One (1) year of experience as a Medical Assistant or LPN, utilizing electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
  • This role operates in a healthcare setting, requiring frequent standing, walking, and computer work.
  • Must be able to stand 75% or longer of the workday, walk 15% or longer of the workday, and sit 10% of the workday.
  • Requires ability to lift and maneuver up to 35 pounds occasionally.
  • Requires employee to bend, squat, kneel, and reach above shoulder level occasionally and twist occasionally.
  • Requires repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, fine manipulation, and computer use.
  • Requires all sensory skills (speech, vision, smell, touch, and hearing) corrected to near normal range.
