Position Overview

Strategic Systems Inc is seeking a dedicated Senior Maintenance Technician to enhance our team. This role involves working night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, following a rotating schedule of three days one week and four days the next. The compensation for this position ranges from $65,000 to $72,800.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute complex preventative maintenance tasks in alignment with company standards, ensuring top-notch quality and thorough execution of each step; innovate methods for effective diagnosis and troubleshooting.
  • Respond swiftly to service calls; identify failures and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Design and implement basic and advanced troubleshooting methods to address mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance assessments and repairs for production and packaging equipment.
  • Utilize the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log activities, generate reports, and formulate maintenance recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Provide mentorship to team members; develop and deliver training on troubleshooting techniques and maintenance of material handling systems.
  • Gain insights into operations from the operator's perspective to evaluate equipment efficiency.
  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of PLC controls, PC systems, and electrical distribution networks.
  • Promote a safe working environment by participating in safety committees, training sessions, and addressing safety concerns proactively.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • An Associate's degree in electrical, electronic, mechanical, or maintenance engineering technology is preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in light-industrial maintenance is required.
  • Six (6) years of experience is acceptable with a preferred degree.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions for routine procedures and equipment operation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all management levels.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities to thrive in a dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficient in identifying problems and applying sound judgment to develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and operation/maintenance manuals.
  • Capability to mentor and coach fellow employees.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design, layout, fabrication, and repair practices related to power transmission and conveyor systems.
  • Familiarity with motor control methods.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of PLC and computer control circuits.
  • Ability to perform welding, burning, and soldering tasks.
  • Competence in reading and creating electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
