The Purchasing Specialist will evaluate sales performance and inventory turnover within their designated categories to make informed purchasing decisions for replenishment.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet global and regional sales objectives for assigned categories
  • Achieve or surpass target profit margins for your categories
  • Oversee Open-to-Buy (OTB) management
  • Control stock coverage effectively
  • Administer markdown strategies for your category/department
  • Safeguard inventory levels on top-selling items by utilizing a strategic approach in forecasting, considering seasonal trends
  • Negotiate favorable terms and delivery schedules on reorder items
  • Process purchase orders efficiently
  • Analyze and report on sales performance

THIS IS WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE AS OUR PURCHASING SPECIALIST:

  • In the initial month, you will familiarize yourself with all Princess Polly systems, procedures, and reporting tools.
Additionally, you will engage with cross-functional teams and begin to understand how your role integrates with others, while also establishing vendor relationships.

  • By the end of the second month, you will gain proficiency in Princess Polly systems, processes, and reports to enhance problem-solving and operational efficiency.
  • After three months, you will assume complete responsibility for the daily and monthly management of your department/category, leading discussions and reporting on sales metrics.
  • You will oversee OTB, Cost Sales on Hand (CSOH), and Weeks of Cover (WOC) for your categories
  • You will regularly report on departmental performance and conduct price analysis, as the numbers will narrate a story.

COMMERCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 3-4 years of experience as an Associate Buyer or higher
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (experience with Shopify is a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities, which are essential for success in this role
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team player
  • Proactive mindset – we value your innovative ideas
  • A genuine passion for fashion
Salary banding: 80-90k
