Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Mammoth Distribution. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for procuring a wide range of supplies and materials essential for daily operations and production, including raw materials for various product categories, warehouse supplies, labels, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement of Supplies: Procure raw materials, secondary packaging, and labels specifically for cannabis products, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Source and Purchase General Warehouse Supplies: Source and purchase general warehouse supplies such as janitorial products, paper goods, office supplies, snacks, etc.
  • RFP and Order Management: Obtain multiple RFPs (Request for Proposals) from potential vendors to secure competitive pricing. Place orders and manage purchase requisitions while ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained.
  • Follow-up with Vendors: Follow up with vendors to confirm order details, set delivery schedules, track and resolve any shipment issues.
  • Collaboration with Teams: Collaborate with Production, Inventory, Supply Chain, co-manufacturers, and other teams as needed to ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production and business demands.
  • Inventory and Cost Control: Work with internal team members to maintain optimal inventory levels for assigned categories, factoring in forecast, demand variation, and material lead times. Monitor inventory levels, trigger reorders, recommend order quantities, and address discrepancies.
  • Implement Cost-Reduction Initiatives: Implement cost-reduction initiatives by negotiating favorable terms with suppliers and optimizing purchasing practices.
  • Reporting: Plan, maintain, and operate procurement reports to ensure adequate supply of materials for production schedules and prevent stockouts. Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities and expenses to management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Buyer or in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
  • Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using an ERP system; Acumatica experience preferred. Strong understanding of procurement and vendor management practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Highly organized with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of the cannabis industry and its regulations is a plus.
