Responsibilities
- Administer or prescribe treatments that meet the highest standards of care.
- Discuss potential side effects with patients and ensure they're fully informed about their medical options.
- Promote health and wellness by advising patients on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Refer patients to specialists when necessary, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
- Follow up with patients to monitor their progress and address any concerns.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations to provide accurate information for admission, employment, or insurance purposes.
- Work collaboratively with care teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Instill confidence in our care and facilities, communicating effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Assess training needs and promote professional development among medical staff.
- Review patient files and records to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Elicit and record patient medical history, identifying potential health risks.
- Perform thorough examinations to diagnose conditions and develop effective treatment plans.
- Order and execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to inform patient care.
- Analyze reports and findings to understand patient conditions and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Prescribe and administer medications, vaccinations, and other treatments as needed.
- Document patient visits, including medical history, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Stay informed about organizational activities and promote our mission and goals.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and stakeholders, responding to all forms of communication.
- Function at the highest level, reflecting credentials and competency.
- Maintain professional relationships with staff, clients, and the public, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Collaborate to achieve departmental goals and objectives, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
- Doctorate in medicine required, with a California Medical license in good standing.
- Valid DEA and CPR certification also required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with superb composition, typing, and proofreading abilities.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, including written, oral, and diagrammatic formats.
- Knowledge of and experience in family medicine, with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing patient needs.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently, to achieve shared goals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally and ethically.
- Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds, with a focus on maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, ensuring patient comfort and care.
- Familiarity with and adherence to Neighborhood Healthcare's Illness and Injury Prevention Plan (IIPP), reporting any injuries or unsafe conditions promptly.
- Maintenance of current knowledge on safety procedures and policies, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Adherence to infection control procedures, including blood-borne pathogen protocols.
- Maintenance of patient, employee, and volunteer confidentiality, accessing information only on a need-to-know basis.
- Compliance with corporate integrity and security obligations, reporting any unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful behavior.
