Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is mandatory.
Position Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of comprehensive accounting experience is essential.
  • Experience with Unanet software is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with billing in an automated accounting system is required.
  • Some background in project/GL coding for accounts payable and credit card transactions is necessary.
  • Experience in government contracting is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities

The Staff Accountant will perform a variety of general accounting support functions, including:
  • Monthly invoicing for clients.
  • Validation of billing data against contracts and Government Task Orders.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of supporting data for invoices and other financial documents.
  • Updating and maintaining accounting journals, ledgers, and records of financial transactions. Data entry into the computer system using established programs.
  • Compiling data and preparing various reports along with assigned monthly closing journal entries.
  • Assisting in the preparation of bank reconciliations.
  • Reconciling records with internal personnel and external vendors or clients.
  • Recommending actions to address discrepancies.
  • Investigating questionable data.
  • Adhering to federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Compiling statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports related to accounts receivable.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Providing backup for Payroll processing.
  • Offering support for Accounts Payable processing.
  • Assisting the Payroll/AP Administrator in comparing vendor/subcontractor contract values against vendor invoices.
  • Supporting the Payroll/AP Administrator in reviewing data and entries prepared by them.
  • Maintaining contracts/projects.
