Lead Financial Analyst for Commercial Projects

Siemens Logistics LLC is on the lookout for a skilled Senior Financial Analyst, Commercial Project Manager (CPM) to enhance our Project Business Finance team. This role is crucial as CPMs are integral finance professionals within project execution teams, collaborating closely with Project Managers. The focus of the CPM position is on the financial and operational dimensions of projects, aiding the project team in surpassing established financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning: Develop project order intake assessments, establish and manage project baseline budgets aligned with the work breakdown structure (WBS). Monitor and maintain project budget allocations.

Cost Management & Reporting: Oversee, analyze, and report on project expenditures. Ensure that financial transactions comply with both internal and external regulations. Identify and document variances against budget and previous estimates.

Generate monthly project status updates and perform ad hoc reporting. Familiarity with Earned Value Management is essential.

Forecasting: Create financial forecasts for projects, including Orders, Revenue, Gross Profit, EBIT, Billings, and Payments. Prepare project Estimate-At-Completion (ETC/EAC).

Risk and Cash Management: Identify, assess, mitigate, and report on project risks and opportunities. Ensure timely and accurate billing for project milestones and facilitate prompt customer payments.

Additional Duties: Participate in month-end closing activities, prepare cost accruals and provisions, and ensure proper recognition of revenue and profit. Support internal and external project audits as necessary and assist in project closure activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a finance-related discipline.
  • 8-10 years of experience in a project-based business in a controlling or finance-related role.
  • Strong knowledge of project finance, controlling, contract management, and supply chain management.
  • Experience in project teams supporting multiple projects and project managers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail; capable of navigating complex topics systematically.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proactive, results-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in SAP and advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
