Orange is on the lookout for a skilled firmware engineer to enhance our electric vehicle charging infrastructure tailored for multi-unit residential settings. As a pivotal member of our innovative startup, you will engage in diverse responsibilities, significantly influencing product design and development. Your contributions will be essential to the advancement of Orange's EV charging platform, which operates on critical systems. Our technology stack includes Go, React, React Native, gRPC, Postgres, and C++ for IoT, all hosted on Google Cloud and orchestrated with Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive, fully-functional solutions.
  • Produce relevant and succinct documentation to enrich Orange's knowledge repository, fostering enhanced organizational information sharing.
  • Automate routine development tasks to streamline processes.
  • Promote best practices in software engineering and the software development lifecycle.
  • Establish strong relationships with cross-functional teams through effective communication, curiosity, and collaboration.
  • Enhance our firmware and device testing methodologies.
  • Refine and optimize our device manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in IoT firmware development.
  • At least 5 years of software development experience with C++.
  • Proficient in navigating various programming languages and technology stacks.
  • Experience with multiple successful IoT and embedded firmware projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of the IoT firmware and backend technology stack.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the IoT communication protocols.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with automated testing methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Protocol Buffers and gRPC.
  • Strong background in cryptography relevant to IoT devices (e.g., Ed25519, X25519, ChaCha20-poly1305).
  • Extensive experience in designing custom OSI layer 5-7 protocols.
  • Experience in managing large-scale IoT fleet operations.
  • Proficiency in developing factory tooling for mass production of devices.
  • Knowledge of IoT device analytics.
  • Experience in remotely managing IoT devices and handling crashes.
  • Familiarity with backend development, particularly in Golang.
  • Solid understanding of OSI layers one to four.
  • Strong grasp of cybersecurity issues related to IoT development.
