Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for coordinating procurement activities, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate data entry activities, including compiling and tabulating data, checking documents for accuracy, and reviewing and uploading procurement files.
  • Manage procurement-related vendor checks and communicate with purchasers.
  • Assist with preparing, reviewing, and maintaining purchasing and procurement reports.
  • Provide guidance to others on procurement procedures and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as participating in or providing support for the agency's disaster response and recovery obligations or Business Continuity Plan activation.
Requirements:
  • Some knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing state purchasing.
  • Some knowledge of purchasing and procurement methods and procedures.
  • Some knowledge of state of Texas procurement principles and practices, assigned commodities and products on the open market, and supply sources.
  • Ability to logically assemble and evaluate information.
  • Ability to maintain a system of required record keeping.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to schedule, prioritize, monitor, and complete multiple assignments timely.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:

This position requires regular and predictable attendance and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
