Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Social Studies Teacher to join our team at Bradford Academy. As a Social Studies Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters a love for learning, encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and provides the necessary guidance and resources for students to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of individual students
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments and best practices in Social Studies education
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with endorsements in Social Studies and Middle School education
  • Or, minimum of a Bachelor's degree and an alternative pathway, which includes passing the MTTC test(s) for endorsements in Social Studies and Middle School education
  • Ability to use technology as an instructional tool in the classroom
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with students, parents, and colleagues
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent teaching experience in Social Studies and Middle School education
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current instructional strategies and best practices in Social Studies education
  • Ability to work with students with diverse backgrounds and abilities
