Job Summary

The Clinical Training Specialist will work under the direction of the Nurse Administrator to perform outlined duties. The ideal candidate will assist in the creation, establishment, promotion, maintenance, and enhancement of corresponding systems. This includes performing and providing training of corresponding clinic staff, promoting teamwork and team effectiveness, and assisting in monitoring program effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with onboarding and annual M.A. and L.V.N. skills assessment/competency trainings, write reports, and make recommendations for additional training or probation if indicated to the immediate supervisor.
  • Be proficient in existing workflows in front office and back office work, provide recommendations, and adapt/assist with the implementation of new workflows as directed.
  • Provide direct hands-on training (site to site) on the clinical floor to both new and existing M.A.s as needed, training consists of, but is not limited to, appropriate workflows, processes, documentation practices, and clinical care.
  • Provide feedback regarding quality assurance and improvement and work to meet objectives in relation to Comprehensive Community Health Centers Inc.'s strategic plan and its clinical, operational, and administrative goals.
  • Participate in all meetings when indicated.
  • Assist on matters relating to clinical practice and assist in development of policies and protocols for patient care.
  • Promote teamwork towards achieving Comprehensive Community Health Centers Inc. clinical measures and work towards reaching targets.
  • Identify relevant quality-related support staff training needs.
  • Train corresponding roles and departments to achieve desired provider and support staff quality care goals.
  • Be proficient in clinical and operational aspects of care in all areas of primary care, including but not limited to, Family Practice, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Behavioral Health, Podiatry, and Optometry.
  • Work alongside clinics and administrative departments (e.g., Operations Department, QI Department, IT, Billing, Outreach, etc.) in order to achieve organizational, qualitative, operational, and administrative goals.
  • Other duties as assigned and required.
Requirements
  • Graduated from an approved medical assistant program or nursing program.
  • Possession of a valid CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) certification or a valid LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) California license.
  • Preferably two or more years of medical assistant or nursing experience in an outpatient clinic with responsibility in administration.
  • Training experience preferred.
  • Experience in patient workflows.
Compensation

The Clinical Training Specialist will be compensated at a rate of $21 - $25 hourly for Certified Medical Assistant and $31-$35 hourly for Licensed Vocational Nurse.
