Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Senior Hydrology Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will involve collaboration with a skilled group of civil engineers and geologists dedicated to various aspects of water resource management, including the design and execution of water quality monitoring programs, sustainable water resource planning, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and the development of best management practices (BMPs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and review hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for various watershed scales;
  • Design and implement water resource projects, including watershed management, drainage enhancements, and stream restoration;
  • Prepare and supervise engineering calculations, technical specifications, and drawings;
  • Support compliance with relevant environmental permits and regulations;
  • Perform site inspections, compile reports, and develop Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and Water Quality Improvement Plans (WQIPs);
  • Create and review technical documentation, including written reports and visual aids;
  • Assist in project management tasks, including budgeting, scheduling, and scope management;
  • Foster strong client relationships while collaborating with senior professionals and technical staff;
  • Contribute to business development efforts and staff mentoring initiatives;
  • Enhance the firm's visibility through publications and participation in industry conferences.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering with a focus on water resources or a related field (required);
  • Advanced degree in a relevant discipline (preferred);
  • Professional Engineer license (P.E.) is advantageous;
Experience and Skills
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with 7+ years preferred;
  • Proficiency in modeling and design software such as HydroCAD, EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS;
  • Familiarity with NPDES/MS4 permitting and compliance processes (preferred);
  • Experience in conducting field investigations related to stormwater management;
  • Strong technical writing, project management, and communication abilities;
  • Experience managing project budgets of at least $25,000 (preferred);
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record (required).
