POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a CIVIL SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER IN PUBLIC WORKS to contribute to our projects. This role is pivotal in assisting team members across a diverse array of Public Works initiatives. Responsibilities will include mentoring junior engineers in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D, as well as collaborating with agencies, clients, and other consultants.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and prepare Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for various civil engineering Public Works projects.
- Utilize technical expertise to develop PS&E for transportation projects, including roadway enhancements, storm drainage systems, water quality best management practices, and utility pipelines.
- Conduct hydrology and hydraulic calculations, along with earthwork assessments.
- Create designs and plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
- Draft project specifications in accordance with industry standards.
- Compile detailed construction quantities and cost estimates using Excel.
- Review designs produced by engineering staff and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Facilitate effective communication with various stakeholders including departments, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Assist project managers in maintaining project budgets, schedules, and scopes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Possession of a California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering and design, specifically in Public Works.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
- Strong capabilities in using Civil 3D.
- Thorough understanding of engineering codes and the ability to communicate these principles effectively.
