Job Title: Portfolio Manager Team Lead

As a Portfolio Manager Team Lead at BMO Financial Group, you will be responsible for facilitating decision-making and analysis of credit information to support lending decisions and processes. You will maintain and promote a client service environment to satisfy and exceed customer needs and expectations.

  • Make recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.
  • Manage resources and lead the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.
  • Develop the business case by identifying needs, analyzing potential options, and assessing expected return on investment.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop consistent and appropriate customer presentations, craft detailed correspondence, presentations, and proposals.
  • Coordinate the management of databases; ensure alignment and integration of data in adherence with data governance standards.
  • Lead change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation, and sustainment of initiatives.
  • Provide direction on the creation of comprehensive credit structures to meet the transactional needs of clients.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to generate ideas, identify client solutions, and pursue marketing efforts.
  • Provide accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing customers.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders for accurate, detailed client information.
  • Develop credit information to make lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans.
  • Assist in negotiations of terms and conditions of all decisions made via phone and e-mail interaction with clients.
  • Prepare summary, present facts, and offer opinions concerning credit worthiness.
  • Minimize BMO's risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to lending decisions.
  • Provide input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Operate at a group/enterprise-wide level and serve as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Apply expertise and think creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
  • Implement changes in response to shifting trends.
Qualifications:
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • Influence skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth / Expert.

Salary:

$120, $222,600.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
