Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes and other Information Assurance (IA) and Cyber Network Defense (CND) compliance evaluations for all enterprise systems and networks, ensuring thorough review and accuracy of all relevant documentation.
  • Performs compliance assessments of security plans, executes risk evaluations, and conducts security testing and audits.
  • Evaluates security requirements for the protection of information across enterprise systems and networks.
  • Assists in the formulation of security policies.
  • Assesses the sensitivity of information and carries out vulnerability and risk assessments based on established sensitivity and information flow criteria.
  • Must hold a professional certification as Technical Level II as per DODI 8570.

Specific Duties:

  • Facilitates Assessment, Authorization, and Validation activities.
  • Conducts and supports traditional security evaluations, assessments, and audits as mandated by Cybersecurity protocols.
  • Identifies and rectifies deficiencies on-site while educating users on current security standards and requirements in accordance with existing cyber guidelines and DoD compliance standards.
  • Supports assessments, evaluations, and audits for customer-supported Information Systems, including reviews of IT infrastructure, applications, databases, and processes that support the customer mission.
  • Coordinates the collection, validation, and submission of Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation artifacts into the eMASS portal and internal tracking systems for all authorization boundaries and application Authority to Operate (ATO) submissions, providing reports as necessary.
  • Manages Risk Management Documents (RMDs) including Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), Risk Acceptance (RAC), Memorandum for Records (MFRs), Operational Impact Statements (OIS), and Waivers for all assigned boundaries and application ATOs, ensuring proper delivery to the designated Government representative.
  • Reviews and verifies compliance or non-compliance in accordance with CCI, STIGs, and SRGs for each identified finding or vulnerability in line with RMF.
  • Schedules and oversees the Information System Contingency Plan (ISCP).
  • Reviews and validates all supporting documentation necessary to comply with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, including System Security Plan (SSP), Threat Model, System View 1, System View 2, Incident Response Plan, Business Impact Analysis, and After Action Report.
  • Reviews and updates as necessary all assigned Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRnet) and Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRnet) Technical Security Plans (TSPs), providing updates to the designated Government representative.
  • In support of the RMF Assess Only process, adheres to documented requirements and validates risk analyses and assessments on software and hardware requests that are not included in the approved product catalog, utilizing triage worksheets and approved tracking tools for Information System Security Manager (ISSM) review.
  • Provides surge support, technical guidance, and expertise in Cybersecurity to assist customers, mission partners, Information Management Officers (IMOs), Information System Security Officers (ISSOs), Information System Owners, Software Developers, Network Systems, and Database Administrators in accordance with all relevant cyber regulations and directives; delivers results in reports, briefs, and other required deliverables to the appropriate Government representative.
  • Offers Cybersecurity surge support in response to real-world or additional requirements for RMF compliance checks and documentation reviews across authorization boundaries, including but not limited to:
    • Preparation for security reviews of all controls associated with RMF applicable to assigned authorization boundaries based on Confidentiality, Integrity, or Availability designations.
    • Conducting on-site or off-site reviews of all information systems to audit and confirm compliance with relevant security controls.
    • Serving as reviewers for audit teams during inspections, assessments, evaluations, and audits.
    • Providing necessary reports to the designated Government representative.
    • Delivering reviews, validations, and deliverable efforts in support of compliance or non-compliance in accordance with CCI, STIGs, and SRGs for each finding or vulnerability in line with RMF.
    • Providing embedded Cybersecurity support across customer or other supported organizations as required.
