This position emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care while working closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. The primary focus of the Physician Assistant is to educate patients on preventive care, prescribed treatments, and therapies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver comprehensive medical services to patients, performing all necessary functions under physician guidance.
  • Conduct thorough health assessments (initial, ongoing, discharge), identify health characteristics, develop care plans, initiate appropriate interventions, and evaluate outcomes for designated patient populations.
  • Execute delegated tasks under physician supervision, including differential diagnosis, prescriptive authority, and treatment in accordance with established guidelines and protocols. Accept accountability for healthcare outcomes.
  • Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment to operate autonomously as defined by the Nurse Practice Act. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain accurate consultation records in patients' files.
  • Ensure timely charting in the patient's medical record, completing documentation on the same day as the patient visit.
  • Initiate necessary diagnostic tests or investigations and interpret findings.
  • Provide safe, evidence-based, cost-effective, and individualized patient care.
  • Contribute to the practice's quality targets to uphold high standards of patient care and service delivery.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the practice.
  • Adhere to all internal policies and procedures; ensure completion of operational tasks according to departmental guidelines for appropriate clinical processing/documentation.
  • Manage patient appointments efficiently, maintaining reasonable timeliness throughout the day unless exceptional circumstances arise.
  • Maintain current licensure and credentials, staying updated in practice.
  • Respond to requests for information, including faxes and emails.
  • Report required statistics.
  • Protect patient and family privacy rights, ensuring confidentiality of patient records in compliance with policy and HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow all safety protocols on the job, promptly reporting accidents and addressing minor safety hazards. Communicate with peers and management regarding any identified workplace hazards.
  • Travel as necessary to other facilities.
  • Perform additional job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Recognized by the Texas Medical Board as a Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Possess prescriptive authority privileges through the State of Texas.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Reliable transportation for travel.
