Position Description:

The successful candidate will participate in new product development projects, application engineering of existing products, and the processes that bring them to fruition. A Mechanical Engineer works with Electrical, Software, and other Mechanical Engineers, taking complete ownership of, and responsibility for well-defined tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing their work product for design review, and for contributing to design review of other's work. All aspects of the product life cycle are included in the position's responsibilities, as are specification, component selection, mechanical design, prototyping, manufacturing engineering, and QA/QC of the product. This position is classified as an Engineer Level 3 (equivalent to GS-9).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement mechanical design solutions for new and existing products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets customer requirements and industry standards
  • Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to ensure high-quality designs
  • Develop and maintain product documentation, including bills of material and design specifications
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure LayerZero Power Systems remains competitive

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training or Licensed Professional Engineer status a plus
  • US Citizenship or C1 Permanent Resident Alien status
