This position is an onsite part-time role. We are on the lookout for the next Patient Access Specialist champion. This role is accountable for executing admission responsibilities for all patients seeking services at the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital.
  • Ensure compliance with the organization's mission, goals, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Work within established policies and processes across the organization.
  • Assign accurate Medical Record Numbers (MRNs) and conduct medical necessity checks.
  • Provide clear patient instructions and collect insurance information.
  • Receive and process physician orders while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard for incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls.
  • Adhere to policies and provide compassionate customer service during interactions.
  • Accountable for achieving point of service goals as assigned.
  • Utilize quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure account accuracy.
  • Conduct audits of accounts, ensuring timely completion of forms to meet audit standards.
  • Pre-register patient accounts prior to visits, including inbound and outbound calls to gather necessary information.
  • Explain general consent for treatment forms to patients or guardians and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Distribute patient education documents and ensure proper understanding.
  • Review insurance eligibility responses and accurately enter benefit data to support billing processes.
  • Screen for medical necessity using the Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software.
  • Distribute and document designated forms and pamphlets as required.

Experience:

1+ years of customer service experience.

Required Education:

High School Diploma/GED Required.

Certification:

CRCR Required within 6 months of hire (Company Paid).
