Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Controller to join our team at STS Technical Services. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for coordinating the correction of mechanical irregularities that may develop during flight operations and monitoring the status of out-of-service aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Issue Control Numbers: Assign control numbers for all reported aircraft discrepancies.
  • Authorize Deferrals: Authorize MEL/CDL/NEF deferrals in accordance with the procedures outlined in the GPM.
  • Maintain Deferred Discrepancy Information: Maintain current deferred discrepancy information to ensure timely repair of these discrepancies.
  • Notify Dispatch: Notify Dispatch of all MEL/CDL/NEF items that may impact flight operations.
  • Notify Maintenance Management: Notify appropriate maintenance management of any incident or accident involving Mesa Airlines, Inc. equipment or personnel.
  • Supervise Maintenance Personnel: Supervise and provide technical guidance to line, on-call, and/or contracted maintenance personnel as required.
  • Communicate Aircraft Status: Communicate the status of out-of-service and spare aircraft, Ferry Flights, mechanical delays, and cancellations to all concerned departments as situations occur.
  • Coordinate Maintenance Activities: Coordinate the routing of appropriate parts, equipment, and personnel to out-of-service aircraft as required.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure Ferry Flights and Functional or Operational Check Flights are conducted in accordance with the procedures outlined in the GPM.
  • Provide Training: Ensure On-the-Job Training (OJT) is conducted and documented.
  • Perform Additional Tasks: Perform additional tasks as specified in the CASS/Reliability Section of the Mesa Airlines, Inc. General Procedures Manual (GPM).
  • Perform Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Maintenance Control.
Requirements
  • Mechanic's Certificate: Hold a Mechanic's Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
  • Experience: Three years of experience in the same category and class of aircraft as used by Mesa Airlines, Inc. preferred. (or) Three years of Part 121 Maintenance Controller experience. (or) Three years of experience as a Mesa Airlines, Inc. mechanic. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
