Category Manager Job Description

MITER Brands is seeking a skilled Category Manager to lead our direct materials category strategies. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category-level strategies to drive cost savings, improve product quality, and minimize inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute category-level strategies to drive business growth and profitability
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate better prices and terms
  • Improve product quality by working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Minimize inventory levels by implementing effective inventory management practices
  • Shorten lead times by streamlining procurement processes and improving supplier relationships
  • Improve fill rates by optimizing inventory levels and improving supplier performance
  • Present innovative ideas and products to drive business growth and competitiveness
Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in a related field; MS preferred
  • CPM, CPIM, or CSCP certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years sourcing experience working for a major, large-dollar operation
  • Minimum 1 year at Senior Buyer level or Strategic Buyer level in manufacturing sector
