Job Title: Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and caring Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Powell Veterinary Center at Powell Blvd. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing end-to-end care for our precious patients, from facilitating outpatient treatments to supporting laboratory tests and admitting/discharging patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform vital signs on patients, including temperature, pulse, and respiration
  • Conduct accurate and detailed rounds to ensure patient comfort and well-being
  • Assist with IV catheter placement and venipuncture
  • Set up and monitor anesthesia
  • Perform laboratory duties, including diagnostic testing
  • Knowledge of common medications and precautions when dispensing for home use
  • Demonstrate comprehension and treatment of common emergencies
  • Assist with basic CPR
  • Surgically prepare patients for minor surgery, including proper clipping, prep, and positioning
  • Correctly and safely restrain animals
  • Be familiar with common medications used in the hospital
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Veterinary Assistant

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience, with an hourly pay range starting at $18/hour.
