We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated student assistant to support the Health Sciences Main Office Reception Desk. This is a part-time position that requires the student to work 10 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assistance to faculty and staff as needed
- Record management, computerized and manual
- Filing, data entry using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software
- Operation of copier/scanner, fax machine
- Complete projects and any other duties assigned by faculty and staff in a timely manner
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct accordingly as well as helping monitor departmental email inbox
- Assist visitors in the main office suite or direct accordingly
- Respect the confidentiality of the documents being handled and the department
- Be responsible, dependable, and professional at all times
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication skills, in-person and via various technology
- Professional attitude
- Shows initiative
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficient with Excel and Word
- Willing to work up to 10 hours per week
- Federal Work Study Eligible
Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate). Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA. E-Verify Notice: After accepting employment, new hires are required to complete an I-9 form and present documentation of their identity and eligibility to work in the United States. James Madison University uses the E-Verify system to confirm identity and work authorization.
