Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees all elements of the wine and beverage program, including procurement, stock management, organization, and financial oversight.
  • Designs and implements training initiatives for both current staff and new recruits to elevate their understanding of wine tasting and service.
  • Works in conjunction with management and culinary teams to refresh the wine selection.
  • Assists with daily operational tasks, including reporting and adherence to opening and closing protocols.
  • Informs guests about our beverage offerings, providing recommendations for wine pairings tailored to their meal choices and preferences.
  • Ensures that wines are served at optimal temperatures, in appropriate glassware, and that bottles are opened with precision.
  • Sets a positive example to cultivate a professional team atmosphere that encourages trust, integrity, and high performance.
  • Offers mentorship, constructive feedback, and support to the service team to promote continuous growth, engagement, and motivation.
  • Welcomes guests with professionalism and a friendly demeanor.
  • Proactively addresses guest requests, inquiries, and concerns.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a sommelier capacity.
  • Prior experience in an upscale dining environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in food and beverage pairings.
  • Strong grasp of pricing strategies, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional command of English, both written and verbal; proficiency in a second language is advantageous.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
