Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable sommelier to join our team. As a sommelier, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our guests' dining experience by expertly guiding them through our wine selections. You will work closely with our General Manager, April, who will oversee the wine program and provide direction on wine pairings and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curate and present a diverse wine list that complements our Indian-inspired cuisine.
  • Provide expert recommendations to guests, including food pairings and explanations of wine characteristics.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Maintain the wine inventory, ensuring proper storage and organization.
  • Conduct wine tastings and training sessions for staff to enhance their wine knowledge and service skills.
  • Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and special requests with professionalism and care.
  • Uphold the restaurant's high standards of service and contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a sommelier in a fine dining or upscale restaurant is preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of wines, particularly with an interest in pairing with Indian cuisine is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A passion for hospitality and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Actively practice food and beverage safety procedures.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours and lift at least 50 pounds.
