Job Summary:

As the Assistant General Manager - Operations at Courtyard Little Rock West, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the hotel. You will supervise and support various departments, including Guest Services, Food & Beverage, Food Production, Engineering, Accounting, Sales, and Housekeeping, in the absence of the General Manager. Your primary focus will be on achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and support various hotel departments, ensuring seamless operations and high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Revenue Generation: Assist the General Manager in revenue generation programs, participate in sales efforts, and meet with on-site contacts for evening functions.
  • Employee Development: Assist the General Manager in developing managerial and hourly employees through Corporate-approved training programs.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Create an environment where employees make empowered decisions to ensure guest satisfaction, follow up on empowerment successes and opportunities, and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Financial Management: Assist the General Manager with the creation of financial reports, meet all Corporate imposed deadlines, and participate in required M.O.D. coverage.
  • Training and Development: Ensure training in service standards is taking place in each department, recruit, hire, and train Guest Services staff based on occupancy, and maintain procedures for handling the hotel safe.
Requirements:
  • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in a Rooms or F&B department in a hotel, or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a Rooms or F&B department at a hotel.
  • Qualifications: Previous supervisory experience, proficiency in Windows Operating Systems, and the ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
