Division Chief of Child Development Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced developmental pediatrician to serve as Division Chief of Child Development at the Children's Hospital of Richmond of the Virginia Commonwealth University.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to the Child Development Clinic, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement research initiatives in collaboration with faculty members, focusing on clinical, translational, and outcomes research.
  • Teach and mentor students, residents, and other trainees, promoting excellence in education and training.
  • Serve on departmental and School of Medicine level committees, contributing to the advancement of the department's mission and goals.
  • Engage in professional activities, including journal review, conference presentations, and other scholarly pursuits.
Requirements:
  • Board certification in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities.
  • Completion of a Developmental Behavioral or Neurodevelopmental Fellowship program.
  • Experience in clinical care of patients birth to 21 years of age.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
  • Excellent teaching skills and previous program/divisional leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in an academic medical center.
  • National/international recognition.
  • A well-developed scholarly/research portfolio with evidence of multi-disciplinary applications.
  • External funding to complement and expand existing expertise in the department.
