Position Title: Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Advanced Practice Provider

Job Overview:

As a key member of Bauer's Intelligent Transportation, the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will play a vital role in our expanding healthcare team. This full-time position is based in a dynamic clinical environment, where you will collaborate with a dedicated group of healthcare professionals.

Employment Type: Full Time

Educational Requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher in nursing or completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Education Program.
  • Graduates from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program are also welcome.
  • Preferred: One year of relevant clinical or surgical experience.
  • Preferred: DaVinci robotic training.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
  • Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Certification from the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations for both new and established patients.
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Provide follow-up care and health maintenance in line with established care standards.
  • Initiate necessary treatments and diagnostic tests for patient evaluation.
  • Evaluate post-operative patients and manage routine follow-up visits.
  • Be available for same-day patient consultations.
  • Educate patients on health-related matters and document clinical care according to guidelines.
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as required.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients and their families while adhering to confidentiality regulations.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Inpatient Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inpatient rounds and manage consults.
  • Communicate effectively with surgical teams and on-call physicians.
  • Document patient admissions and progress notes thoroughly.
  • Assist in surgical procedures as needed, with training provided.
  • Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for procedures.
  • Facilitate communication between surgical teams to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Perform first assist duties in various surgical procedures under the guidance of the surgeon.
