Position Overview
Under the guidance of the County Clerk, the Assistant County Registrar plays a vital role in the management and preservation of essential records such as birth certificates, death certificates, marriage licenses, and more. This position requires direct interaction with the public, providing assistance through various channels and ensuring the accurate issuance of certified documents. The Assistant County Registrar also addresses intricate inquiries that necessitate thorough research and adherence to applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage requests for vital records
- Deliver customer support
- Evaluate and process concealed weapon license applications
- Issue marriage licenses
- Oversee notary applications and military discharge documentation
- Process birth and death certificates
- Assist with election-related preparations
- Compile reports for governmental entities
- Digitize and organize physical records
- Conduct financial reconciliations
- Provide administrative support
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy standards
- Utilize software for record management
- Support the training of new Deputy Clerks
- Carry out other assigned responsibilities
- Uphold confidentiality standards
- Manage responsibilities during public health emergencies
- Meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks
- Ensure exceptional customer service
Education: Bachelor's Degree required
Experience: Minimum of two years' experience in a Deputy Clerk role
Other Requirements: Must be eligible for commissioning as a Notary Public
Working Conditions:
Environment: Indoor setting with no exposure to extreme conditions
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform various physical tasks
- Close visual acuity and effective communication skills required
- Proficiency in operating a PC/laptop
- Capability to manage varying levels of stress
This position is benefited and subject to the County Clerk/Mason CBA.
