Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on work trucks, heavy-duty trucks, pavement marking equipment, and other construction equipment.
  • Repair and Service: Perform routine maintenance and service tasks, including checks on fluid levels and batteries, lubrication of joints and hinges, oil changes and filter replacements, spark plug replacement, tire changes, and cooling system service.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance, including daily time sheets, and order and pick up parts as needed.
  • Emergency Service: Provide emergency service and repair of vehicles and equipment, and make onsite service calls as required.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Operate welding torches to repair trailers, frames, and truck bodies, and perform other general mechanical repairs.
  • Trailered Equipment Repair: Repair and maintain trailered equipment, including message boards, arrow boards, and DSL equipment.
  • Service Reporting: Manage service reports, documenting all maintenance work performed, including parts used and time spent.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall operation and efficiency of the equipment.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, in compliance with safety standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma, with a strong foundation in vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Certifications: Valid CDL Certification, mechanical certifications a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience in diesel mechanics and heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Skillset: Skill in operating hand and power tools related to repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Soft Skills: Effective communication skills, time management, problem-solving, teamwork and collaboration, conflict resolution, and adaptability.
  • Abilities: Possess all auditory, speaking, and communicating capabilities, physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs., seeing, and reading.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay Rate: Union pay rate is $35.52 Per Hour Plus Fringe Benefits, non-union rate is negotiable.
