JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, this position is accountable for all customer service operations related to the seamless transition of care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in DME customer service is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in customer service roles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and accrediting body regulations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong teamwork and facilitation skills.
  • Capacity to work independently.
  • Clear knowledge of the various departments and revenue cycle roles within Fort Medical and Prism Health Care Services, Inc.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, problem-solving, investigative, and analytical skills, along with strong listening and interpersonal abilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Promote company programs and services to designated referral sources.
  • Support the mission, vision, and strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Respond to customer inquiries with courtesy and respect.
  • Engage with customers and inquiries in a manner that reflects ownership.
  • Deliver high levels of customer care and responsiveness.
  • Maintain extensive product knowledge and understanding.
  • Accurately and efficiently process all sales transactions, including cash, check, or credit card payments.
  • Ensure a clean retail environment and maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Assist with patient discharge and equipment fitting to ensure a comprehensive transition of care.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to verify that referral details are complete and accurate prior to delivery and patient education.
  • Build and nurture positive relationships with referral sources, providing education on medical equipment qualifications and policy updates.
  • Handle incoming patient and referral calls; verify all information and utilize appropriate forms.
  • Refer troubleshooting inquiries to the relevant department as necessary.
  • Maintain organized patient files by filing all related documents.
  • Report any patient or referral-related issues to the Branch Manager promptly.
  • Communicate essential information to Delivery Technicians or the Branch Manager as required.
  • Receive necessary paperwork and prescriptions as mandated.
  • Participate in in-service training as needed.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating issues and making recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as needed.
  • Meet monthly and quarterly productivity targets.
  • Interact in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and related company policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
