Job Summary

Summary: As a Utility Route Driver, you will be responsible for driving a company-owned truck over established routes to deliver and sell products or render services. This role requires collecting money from machines, making change, and performing various duties as outlined below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Service a particular route or location during the absence of the regular route or warehouse employee.
  • May assist Customer Service Managers with daily opening and closing of the operation, and training of new route service personnel.
  • Deliver items such as soft drinks, bakery products, specialty foods, snack items, and sundries to customer's place of business.
  • Place stock on shelves or racks in vending machines, collect stale, rejected, or unsold merchandise, and collect money from machines.
  • Record transactions on appropriate cards and/or electronic devices, and be accountable for cash and product.
  • Call on existing customers to determine adequacy of service, inform regular customers of new products and/or services, and listen to and resolve service complaints.
  • Select items from the warehouse and load the truck, prepare order forms for food and pastry products.
  • Perform routine maintenance on and sanitation of machines, set up merchandise and sales promotion displays, or issue sales promotion materials to customers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, and perform job safely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
