Job Summary

The Part-Time Staff Assistant I provides administrative support to staff, faculty, and students by performing task-oriented duties while providing clerical, analytical, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Dean, Department Chair, and division using various Microsoft Office software.
  • Receptionist Duties: Serve as the frontline receptionist by greeting, meeting, and assisting staff, faculty, students, and visitors to the office with information and an assortment of needs.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory of office and general supplies, distributing markers and board erasers to faculty and maintaining inventory.
  • Document Management: Maintain and file department documents, including organizational charts and other important documents.
  • Communication: Interact with customers by answering general inquiries, answering parking questions, and directing visitors to the proper department.
  • Technology Support: Assist with technology-related issues, including creating spreadsheets and presentations, and filing.
  • Event Promotion: Maintain and update the bulletin board with printed student articles, library hours, and course information, as well as print and post STEM-related event flyers inside classrooms and/or buildings on campus.
  • Work Order Management: Create and follow up on work orders submitted to maintenance.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, proficiency with common office software, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, excellent customer service skills, knowledge of general office practices and procedures, ability to multi-task, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
