Position Title: Graduate Civil Engineer

Job Responsibilities:
As a vital member of our project team, the Graduate Civil Engineer will engage in engineering and design tasks related to transmission line or substation design, applying essential engineering principles. Your assignments will be closely supervised, aimed at enhancing your professional knowledge and skills.

Key Duties:
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop or modify all civil and structural design documents and drawings, under direct supervision.
  • Conduct engineering support activities such as wind load calculations and structural analysis with minimal oversight.
  • Familiarize yourself with and apply engineering standards, including NESC, IEEE, ANSI, AISC, and ACI.
  • Utilize the document management system effectively.
  • Adhere to corporate standard engineering practices.
  • Gain hands-on experience by visiting job sites to enhance your understanding of substation construction and design.
  • Take personal accountability for the quality and precision of your work.
  • Identify potential project-related issues and propose solutions to the responsible party.
  • Be prepared to travel for short durations as required by project needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is required, with a preference for candidates with a structural background. An Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or the ability to obtain one within a year of hire is necessary. Prior internship or relevant work experience in structural design is advantageous.

Skills Required:
  • Understanding of steel and concrete design principles.
  • Basic knowledge of structural analysis.
  • Proficiency in common word processing, spreadsheet, and email software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with co-workers, vendors, and clients.
Physical Requirements:
  • This role requires minimal physical exertion.
  • Must be capable of sitting at a desk and working on a computer for extended periods.
  • Work primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel overnight for training and meetings as necessary.
  • Extended hours, including weekends, may be required periodically.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary.
