About the Role

As a Family Empowerment Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting families within JPNDC properties to enhance their financial stability and overall well-being. Through personalized coaching, resource navigation, and referrals, you will help families set and achieve their self-defined goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage potential program participants through outreach efforts, including presentations and community networking
  • Collaborate with participants to develop an Individual Training and Services Plan and a Participation Agreement
  • Support participants in achieving objectives related to employment, education, and financial management
  • Facilitate connections to community resources and services as needed
  • Assess participant readiness for program graduation
  • Oversee escrow accounts and manage disbursements in conjunction with program leadership
  • Document participant interactions and progress in a shared database
  • Organize community-building activities and workshops
  • Perform administrative tasks, including filing and record-keeping
  • Conduct site visits and meet participants in various locations as necessary

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in social work or a related discipline, or 2-3 years of experience in human services or case management
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred
  • Experience in diverse community settings
  • Familiarity with local resources and services
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Excellent communication and mediation skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Work Environment

This position is full-time and offers a hybrid work model with a flexible schedule, including occasional evening and weekend hours, as well as regular site visits.

Compensation and Employment Terms

  • Salary range: $55,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience
  • This is a full-time, salaried role with a competitive benefits package
