Job Overview

The role of the Assembly Specialist involves working on a production line to assemble various models of server systems. Candidates must possess a keen eye for detail and maintain a steady pace to ensure the efficiency of the assembly process. Each assembly station is designed to operate within a specific time frame, and any delays can impact the overall production flow.

Responsibilities

Each assembly line consists of nine distinct stations along with a quality control inspector. New hires will receive comprehensive training across all stations and must be adaptable to work wherever needed. Each station is equipped with a rack containing necessary components, a scanning device, and dual computer monitors. One monitor displays the assembly instructions for that specific station, while the other is utilized with the scanner to log each component added, linking the part number to the overall serial number of the unit.

While most components are lightweight, the assembled server units may weigh between 50 to 60 pounds, necessitating teamwork for any lifts exceeding 60 pounds. Candidates should be prepared to stand for extended periods throughout their shift.

Training and Development

New employees will begin their journey with standard HR training, followed by 2-3 days of classroom instruction where they will familiarize themselves with the components and assembly procedures using a sample server. Upon successful completion of classroom training, they will be paired with an experienced assembler on the production floor for hands-on learning.

This position is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity with a duration of 520 hours.

Work Environment

The manufacturing area is climate-controlled, with the exception of the testing department, where hearing protection is required due to elevated noise levels.
