Imaging Equipment Technician II

Moffitt Cancer Center is a leading cancer hospital in Florida and the Southeast, and we are seeking an experienced Imaging Equipment Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing tests, repairs, calibrations, inspections, and preventive maintenance checks on imaging-related equipment used in medical diagnosis or therapy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform tests, repairs, calibrations, inspections, and preventive maintenance checks on imaging-related equipment.
  • Apply technical knowledge of electro-radiological and mechanical systems, and user knowledge of computers.
  • Maintain imaging service budget, including purchase orders and expenses.
  • Respond to calls from hospitals and clinical departments to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints and concerns.
  • Perform or direct planned preventive maintenance, calibrations, and electrical safety inspections on various imaging equipment.
  • Conduct or direct incident investigation, inspect, and test malfunctioning equipment to determine the course of malfunction.
  • Perform or direct major repairs by replacing defective components, glassware, and readjusting components to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Utilize specialized knowledge and training to perform or direct system calibrations within the area of expertise.
  • Test and calibrate equipment at regular or required intervals to maintain operational efficiency and manufacturer's operational specifications.
  • Operate specialized test equipment as necessary to conduct analysis and perform or direct complicated repairs.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree in a field of study such as science, technology, biomedical equipment technology, or completion of a military or DOD biomedical equipment technology or electronics program.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in biomedical equipment repair and maintenance in a research laboratory, hospital, and/or healthcare facility.
  • Knowledge of electronic theory and skills in testing electronic equipment.
  • Preferred certification - CRES, Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist, or CBET.
  • Ability to travel between other Moffitt Cancer Center facilities.
