About the Opportunity

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is seeking an experienced Director of Business Operations to lead and refine its operational framework, manage risk, and support strategic planning.

This role is essential to maintaining operational efficiency and regulatory compliance, reporting directly to executive leadership while working cross-functionally to improve business processes, enhance risk management, and drive revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Management: Lead the drafting, review, and revision of agreements, including vendor contracts, MOUs, and grant agreements, ensuring they meet legal and organizational compliance standards.
  • Manage contract lifecycles to ensure timely renewals or terminations and maintain proper documentation.
  • Procurement and Vendor Relations: Oversee procurement processes, vendor relationships, and project documentation to secure cost-effective acquisitions and optimize partnerships.
  • Manage subcontractor commitments and ensure alignment with active project goals and timelines.
  • Develop and implement Requests for Proposals (RFPs), maintaining centralized records of procurement documents and key organizational files for improved accessibility and operational efficiency.
  • Operational Efficiency and Risk Management: Lead the creation and refinement of operational frameworks to enhance efficiency, minimize risk, and support cross-departmental alignment.
  • Identify and implement best practices for claims management and policy oversight to reduce liability and improve organizational resilience.
  • Facilitate regular reviews of operational policies, including the adoption of AI tools, ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Develop and enforce guidelines for responsible AI implementation, incorporating ethical standards to maximize innovation while mitigating potential risks.
  • Monitor emerging trends in technology and regulations, adapting operational practices to maintain alignment with industry best practices.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in business operations, organizational strategy, or a similar role, ideally within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Expertise in risk management, compliance, and policy oversight.
  • Proficiency in rights management software and digital workflow tools, with experience implementing software to streamline processes.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and analytical skills, with a focus on process improvement and operational excellence.
